DENMARK

Please notice that Denmark is not a part of the Euro zone. Credit cards are widely used, and you can take out the local currency DKK (“kroner”) at any ATM.

Tipping is not customary.

CONFERENCE VENUE

Registration and all sessions take place in the Copenhagen Business School (CBS) main building at Solbjerg Plads 3, 2000-Frederiksberg (Frederiksberg is an area in Copenhagen). Distance from city center approx. 3 kms. Local Metro station “Frederiksberg”.

Location: https://goo.gl/maps/bXUk4ixx24p

AIRPORT TRANSPORT

CBS is served by the Metro train station “Frederiksberg”. Look for the “M” sign at the far end of the airport arrival hall and walk one level up. The Metro runs all day and night every 2-3 minutes directly from Copenhagen airport to the city center (travel time airport-“Nørreport” 15 mins) and from the center onwards to CBS (travel time “Nørreport”-“Frederiksberg” 3 mins).

Metro information:  http://intl.m.dk/#!/

Regional trains (one level down from the arrival hall) serve the city center (stations “København H” or “Nørreport”), which may be more convenient for your hotel. Please observe not to take the train towards Malmø (Sweden)!

Tickets, valid for all trains for 1 hour, can be purchased in the vending machines on the Metro platforms or at the counter in the airport arrival hall (you need 3 zones from the airport to CBS/city center). Single tickets are available (36 DKK from airport), but a 3-day City Pass is good value (200 DKK, also valid for busses). Credit cards can be used both at vending machines and at counters. There is no ticket control when boarding the trains, but there are regular checks and fines for freeriding are heavy.

You can also catch a taxi from the airport to CBS (20 minutes, 300 DKK). Credit cards can be used in taxis, and receipts are available.

LOCAL TRANSPORT

The Metro, as mentioned above, is an efficient solution. CBS is served by the “Frederiksberg” Metro station, and connections to the Metro from “S” (suburban) trains serving most of Copenhagen are made at “Nørreport” station.

Tickets and City Passes for the Metro will also work in local busses, “S” trains and regional trains.

You will need 2 zone tickets (24 DKK) for local transport in the Copenhagen/CBS area. A 3-day City Pass is good value (200 DKK, 4 zones, both for local and airport transport). You can buy tickets and passes in vending machines on platforms and credit cards can be used (single tickets, not passes, can be bought in the bus, cash only). There is no ticket control when boarding the trains, but there are regular checks and fines for freeriding are heavy.

Information on local transport and journey planner:  http://www.rejseplanen.dk

CBS is a short taxi ride away from Copenhagen center (10 minutes, 100 DKK). Taxis are easily hailed on the street or by calling +45 35 35 35 35 or +45 48 48 48 48. Beware that night fares are slightly higher. You can pay with credit card in taxis, and receipts are available.

Copenhagen is small and easy to navigate on foot or bicycle. If your hotel does not provide bikes, the city has Bycyklen, a system of city bikes available for short- and long-term rent. City bikes are aided by a lithium battery and have a built-in table computer with GPS. You can use your credit card to sign up and rent directly at each bike’s tablet.

HOTELS

You must make your own hotel booking. DRUID does not arrange accommodation.

The best hotel selection by far is in the Copenhagen city center, offering a great range of options. Local transport is easy (see above). The hotels listed below are merely examples – there are many more options and DRUID has no special arrangement with any hotel.

There is an (expensive) hotel option right next to CBS:

Radisson Blu Falkoner:  https://www.radissonblu.com/en/falconerhotel-copenhagen

For better options, we recommend you book a hotel close to one of the following stations:
