DRUID26 DISCOVERIES

Tuesday June 9, 16:30-19:00

Make the most out of your time in Copenhagen! DRUID invites conference delegates on trips that are sure to stimulate and relax before the conference dinner. The excursions are not included in the conference fee and registration and pre-payment is required. Please see your online conference profile. You can register a guest (non-delegate) for a DRUID DISCOVERY.

All excursions will begin at the conference venue and end at the DRUID DINNER venue. Please register for only ONE excursion per person.

DRUID Discovery 1: A Walk on the Wild Side

OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

Pre-registration required. Please register online under DRUID26 / MY REGISTRATION on your DRUID profile.

It’s a jungle out there, but inside one of Europe’s oldest zoological gardens, the 27-acre Copenhagen Zoo, it’s a rain forest, a savanna, an Arctic ring, a bat cave, and much more. Apart from its lovely gardens and its structures by Norman Foster, Bjarke Ingels and other star architects, the Zoo is one of the only places in the world to see giant pandas and Tasmanian devils outside their natural habitats. Join other DRUIDs on an exclusive guided tour of Zoo and sip a drink while trying to catch a glimpse of the most exotic and enigmatic creature in the Zoo by far, the DRUID penguin Nestor, sponsored by DRUID in 2005 and named by Elisa Giuliani. DRUID promises a handsome award to anyone capturing a photo of Nestor in his crowd of fellow penguins.

Guided tour. Refreshments will be provided. Depending on the weather, remember your sunglasses and/or umbrella.

Pick-up: Tuesday, June 9, 16:30 at main conference venue (Main lobby). End: 19:00 at the DRUID conference dinner venue (Nordisk Film, Stage 3).

Discovery 2: Copenhagenize!

OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

Pre-registration required. Please register online under DRUID26 / MY REGISTRATION on your DRUID profile.

Half of all Copenhageners cycle to work every day and their bike feels like a member of the family. The city is flat and offers a world-class cycling infrastructure, allowing cyclists to travel faster than cars and go places where other traffic cannot go. Join us on a trip into Copenhagen’s fun, picturesque and often innovative cycling lanes, paths and bridges. Unlike the locals, you may not wear a designer dress or carry children, dogs or shopping on your state-of-the art bike, but there is room for everyone on Copenhagen’s safe cycle lanes. There is, of course, also time to catch a drink en route to the DRUID DINNER venue.

Guided tour. Refreshments will be provided. Bikes and protective gear included. You don’t need to be an ardent cyclist to join.

Pick-up: Tuesday, June 9, 16:30 at main conference venue (Main lobby). End: 19:00 at the DRUID conference dinner venue (Nordisk Film, Stage 3).
