DRUID and the climate crisis

Carbon friendly DRUID
 

All DRUID conferences aim to be carbon neutral. DRUID sources green conference materials, local vegetarian food and unbottled drinking water. 

Since the effect of ’carbon offsets’ is contested, DRUID has chosen not to uset his method to compensate for the conference’s carbon footprint. Instead, DRUID26 invests 8 EUR per conference delegate in United Nationals Development Program. 
 

8 EUR is an equivalent amount to offsetting 0.3 ton of CO2 (as calculated by Verified Carbon Standard and Gold Standard providers such as Atmosfair.de). This is the estimated carbon footprint of one conference delegate’s catering, venue, lodging and local transport. 
 

Carbon friendly travel 

DRUID urges all DRUID26 delegates to consider travelling to Copenhagen by the most carbon friendly means possible. 

If you use air travel, consider donating to a program of your own choice that aims to promove green energy transition and sustainable economic growth. Average equivalents to offsetting the carbon footprint of air travel to Copenhagen from Europe (one-way) is 15 EUR, from the Americas 40 EUR, and from the rest of the World (Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand) 100 EUR.
